Today saw the latest of the famous Wirral Egg Runs.
Despite some hiccups in recent years this amazing event is going from strength to strength with a first class team leading it. Adrian, a Trustee of the Run, has supported it – and also the Toy Run – for many years.
Back in the 1960s, living in a pretty isolated part of rural Wales, Adrian depended on low cost army surplus motor bikes to get to work. He comments: ‘Compared with the bikes we had in those days these modern machines are absolutely fabulous. But I was delighted to see some vintage models there including such British marques as Triumph, AJS, BSA and although I did not spot it among the mass of motor-cyles I was told that there was also a Brough. The motorcyclists do a great service; they are a credit to the British charitable culture and they bring happiness to the kids.’
