Longest Day

20th June 2010

‘All Blessings’ to our readers for the coming Summer Solstice.

Stonehenge, our most famous monument, rightly takes the main news.  Adrian recalls childhood visits to watch sunrise from a pre-historic hill fort on the summit of a mystical Welsh mountain in Gwent, known as ‘Twm Barllwm’ (sometimes spelt ‘Twm Barlwm’) – if it wasn’t raining!

If our readers have reminiscences of favourite local spots that have featured in the summer solstice we would love to publish them in our ‘comments’ link.
